Yep, the underlying steel is fine. Don’t let first impressions deceive you.

Hey now, sometimes it’s not. And you do gotta worry about your measurements . But hot damn did that lathe nice, and hot damn is that some clean work.

Recycling is almost always better than buying new..... Glad you did it. Now use the savings and buy fuel injection rated fuel line next time!

Heh, I am neither OP nor the guy who did the work in this case. (I wish I was. $220 for a flywheel? Christ that would be nice.) I’m just the guy who pointed him to the local shop full of guys who Know Their Shit. :)

Gotcha

Wh at do you have that requires such a not affordable flywheel?

When the car burned down I had some G ates fuel l ine rated to 225psi l, and injector clamps in the mail

Pretty machining! Well worth the low cost!

What do you think the cause was?

Fue l spraying everything from a loose fitting during boost than igniting 15 seconds later. My point was i had all the right parts for the fuel system but they were not installed yet. It’s ironic to receive high pressure fuel line and clamps after you’ve burned your car down from issues related to fuel lines and clamps

That would be “literally everything I own or have built.”
Cheapest is the Daytona at $360+ plus $550 for the clutch . Aluminum with steel friction plate and ring , and the only not-shit replacement available . And that’s kevlar hub, not pucks. The C4GTS, stock dual mass is $700+ from LUK, single mass not-that-lightweight starts at $800, properly lightweight single mass billet at $125 0 . And nope, the Integra isn’t cheaper either - $400+ plus $500+ clutch.
But th e ‘winner’ is the SSJ - if that flexplate ever needs replaced, it’s $3 .5k . No, that is not a typo. It’s a one-off part that was a lot harder to machine than expected because of the tolerances. Even with an auto behind it, beefing it to take more than double the stock torque at the crank made things in there very tight.

Well, they you don’t have to blame yourself for using carb hose......
Blowing the hose out would have kind of surprised me if only for short time.
